CHORUS FOR HOMESCHOOLERS, Cobb/Cherokee
In 2005 I founded a non-profit community chorus which
includes
males and females. There are two choruses: A Youth Choir
which is for ages
12-20, grades 7-12 and young college students who are local;
and a Children's
Chorus for ages 8-11, grades 3-6. These choirs
presently include a large number of homeschoolers in
addition to students from private and public schools. Some
of our performance opportunities include performances at the
Governor's Mansion, The Alliance Theater, Atlanta Botanical
Gardens and university basketball games.

DRAMA CLASSES, ages 7 to adult – with instruction in
choreography, voice and acting skills. Auditions are held for
“placement only”. Students are not turned away….we audition to
see where the beginning skill set is in each actor/actress.
Parents drop off their children for the classes; however, parent
participation is required (as needed) and especially during our
“crunch” times prior to production. Also, participation in our

Horton offers private flute lessons in Canton, Ga. These
lessons are offered weekday
evenings and weekends. Amy has played the
flute for more than 20 years. She studied with Amy Porter
(former associate principle with the Atlanta Symphony
Orchestra) and Dr. Jim Zellars. Her
performance experience includes the
University of Georgia Redcoat Band,
Atlanta Windy Symphony,
Atlanta Concert Band,
and soloist for church.
Students are offered many opportunities from special church
orchestra performances, all-state auditions (even my
homeschool students can audition for all-state and district
honor band). Students have achieved high chair placements
at the Reinhardt Honor band Weekend for high school
students, they have enjoyed successes with Janfest and
Midfest at UGA, in school bands they enjoy high chair
placements and solo opportunities, they have also enjoyed
success with college and scholarship auditions.

Theatre Works of Georgia is offering acting workshops for

Springs. These are one day, two hour workshops designed to give
you flexibility in scheduling around other curricular and
